I know you're pretty big on not including spoilers, but is that a review I should read after watching the movie and going in with as little preconception as possible? You've got me fully convinced to watch it.
By the way, have you ever seen much of the TV show Hannibal? I'm just revisiting it now as part of a Silence of the Lambs-adjacent binge I've been on recently and am just floored all over again at how much better Mikkelsen is in the role than Hopkins. Hopkins is incredible, don't get me wrong, but it really feels to me like a role that Mikkelsen was born to play and he just blows all three other actors who've portrayed Hannibal out of the water in my eyes. The show has its flaws and it's even darker than the movies, but it's all worth it for Mikkelsen's magnetic screen time. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it if you've seen any of it!
