Your thoughts here really resonate with me. I also have an unforgivably huge folder of Medium drafts that I'll probably never touch again.

A very recurrent theme for me on Medium is that nearly every piece I write feels like it won't congeal into anything cohesive by the final stage. Almost always I'll go through my entire process feeling like, "there's no way this piece will work." I'm always shocked when I read over it in the end and decide, "wait, this is decent."

It's definitely not every time, though. Some pieces it's just hard to find the right words to really bring an idea to life. The challenge can usually still be pretty fun though.
